According to those close to the development, Uber’s fleet in the nation is expected to increase to 200,000 cars in the near future. This was reported to IANS.

The Adani Group is reportedly considering joint ventures with significant Indian automakers in order to expand its fleet in the important emerging industry.

According to those with knowledge of the situation, this JV will also directly and indirectly provide job prospects for thousands of people.

As the nation focuses more on green and sustainable energy, Adani Group Founder and Chairman Gautam Adani met with Uber’s global CEO Dara Khosrowshahi on Saturday morning to explore potential future partnerships.

“Very interesting conversation with Uber CEO @dkhos. Gautam Adani said on X, “His vision for Uber’s growth in India is genuinely inspiring, especially his commitment to uplifting Indian drivers and their dignity.”

Gautam Adani said, “Excited for future collaborations with Dara and his team.”

In response to Gautam Adani, Khosrowshahi said that the business is determined to expand inside the nation.

Khosrowshahi said on X, “An absolutely terrific conversation about India’s phenomenal growth and rising entrepreneurship over a delicious breakfast with @gautam_adani.”

Uber arrived in India in 2013, and throughout the next ten years, it completed nearly 3 billion journeys. Uber is now accessible in 125 cities.

“Over 800,000 Indians earn a sustainable income by getting in the driver’s seat,” the firm claims to have assisted.

The important partnership is being undertaken at a time when India is carrying out the biggest renewable energy development program in the world, with plans to raise the capacity of renewable energy generation overall by five times.

500 GW of renewable energy capacity are to be installed by 2030, according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal.

In addition to having an abundance of renewable energy resources and one of the lowest regeneration costs in the world, India is also well-positioned to become a global leader in the production of green hydrogen due to its robust R&D ecosystem and framework for cross-cutting research into the areas of hydrogen production, transportation, electrolyse manufacturing, support infrastructure, fuel cell electric vehicles, storage, and utilization.

Through promoting infrastructure for production and charging, the government is also bolstering and growing the EV ecosystem. Sales of EV charging infrastructure and automobiles will be boosted by the emphasis on expanding EV charging stations.

Government programs like the FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicles) plan also serve as additional incentives for the adoption of EVs.

The government’s most recent initiative to promote “green growth,” a new bio-manufacturing and bio-foundry program that was unveiled earlier this month as part of the Interim Budget, was welcomed by the clean energy sector.

The government said that by taking these actions, environmentally friendly substitutes will be made available, including biodegradable polymers, bioplastics, biopharmaceuticals, and bioagri inputs.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, “This scheme will also help transform today’s consumptive manufacturing paradigm to the one based on regenerative principles.”
